CATHOLIC PRACTICE BEFORE RECIEVING THE SACRAMENTS
If you love me, keep my commandments. (Jesus speaking to Catholics)
[John 14:15]

For a Catholic to receive the sacraments worthily, it is necessary to be in the state of grace. Mortal sin destroys the life of God in our souls, and makes us enemies of God, deserving of eternal punishment in hell. To receive Holy Communion in mortal sin, is an additional mortal sin of sacrilege. Because of the times in which we live, we expect Catholics to be open with their daily conduct at home.
"Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord."
[1 Corinthians 11:27]

Those who are firm in their will, to disobey the Commandments in serious ways, should refrain from presenting themselves in the Sacrament of Penance, for absolution. To make a good confession it is necessary to have supernatural sorrow for all mortal sins, and to have a firm purpose of amendment (which also requires willingness to avoid unnecessary, proximate occasions of sin) Below is a list of behaviors or things that are off limits to Catholics. True Catholics, in doubt about whether or not you are of the proper dispositions to come, please contact us. Here is a little guideline of some things off limits to Catholics: (some of these things could be done in a less serious way, so keep in mind that absolution and Communion are not refused a person for venial sins). True Catholics in the state of grace may come to communion.
